Underground and Above Ground Storage Tank Removal
Due to the risk of contamination to the soil and groundwater of a property, fuel oil storage tanks and associated piping are a significant environmental liability. Underground storage tanks (USTs) have been utilized to store gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, and heating oil for many years and are prone to rusting and leakage. Fuel oil tanks are considered a significant risk to property owners, as well as prospective property buyers that may be unaware of abandoned and undocumented tanks.
After a site assessment if it is found that a product release has occurred, additional testing and remediation may be required. ARM’s experienced staff of Geologists and Environmental Technicians can assist our clients in completing removing the tanks, remediating the site and with filing post-closure reports with the State to receive a No Further Action (NFA) status. After a removal of a tank and filing the appropriate paperwork to the State, it may be possible to apply for reimbursement of some expenses through the State Trust Fund.
